Colin’s Hope together with Manning Pool Service
Safety is at the center of everything we do. Manning Pool Service is proud to announce our partnership with Colin’s Hope, a non-profit organization that educates parents, caregivers and children to be safer around water. Colin’s Hope exists to prevent children from drowning and their vision is of a world where no child drowns. Colin’s Hope is based in Austin, TX, and works across Texas and nationwide to spread the message that DROWNING IS FAST, SILENT AND PREVENTABLE.
Colin’s Story
Colin Holst was a young boy of 4 from Austin. He loved all the things boys his age were crazy about. Colin enjoyed going to the beach, swimming in the pool with his family, and recently finished swimming lessons. One day Colin was at a large community swimming pool with his friends moving about in a large group. And then, in an instant, Colin was not with them. Shortly after, Colin was pulled from the shallow water unconscious and died the next day at the hospital.
Colin didn’t pass away in a sudden car accident or by the hand of a merciless disease. He passed away on a beautiful summer day surrounded by people who loved him. His family was shocked to learn that drowning is the leading cause of death for children under 4. From that tragic incident, Colin’s Hope was founded.
Colin’s Hope is on a mission to provide life saving tips, information, and drills to families in Texas and beyond.
